A View of Eltville
Eltville is a small town in the Rheingau, one of Germany's most famous wine-growing regions. As well as being famous for its wine, Eltville is also known for its sparkling wine (Sekt) and roses. The winding cobbled streets are flanked by traditional Fachwerkhäuser (half-timbered houses) and despite its size, Eltville offers a surprising number of restaurants and (wine) bars. The whole town can easily be taken in on foot, and a short wander is bound to turn up some of the many Weingüte (wine estates), most of which have shops offering wine or sekt direct from the producer.
